Stairway To...

jc beckman

Bisbee Arizona is built on the side of some very steep hills...seems everywhere you look there are stairs going somewhere...these caught my eye.

I was drawn upward by the stairs and inward by the converging lines

of the bricks on either side...

I can see the fascination with converging lines and vanishing points which you use very efficiently! Nice muted colors and textures.

But I wish you would have left out the door - it kind of takes away the "mystery" for me.

Love the symmetry. Love the orange brick tone..Its *really* that color I'm sure. The detail and design in the stairs is impressive.

Only thing is, wish there were another railing. But you can't MAKE art ;)

Great work.

This is a great image. Maybe it's the height of the stairs, maybe it's the wide lens but it makes me feel a bit claustrophobic. Definately caught my eye. I agree with the previous reviewer who said it might be better without the door. kind of like an endless stairway. If I had taken the picture, I would have gotten down more so that the first stair was a lot wider and cut off the top. But that's just me. Excellent work!

Nice "explosive" effect from the perspective lines of the brick walls. I just wish the wall details were a little sharper. I also agree with the commentors above about the door -- it detracts from the overall effect.
