paolamarinangeli 0 Posted January 11, 2009 Another shot from this morning session in.....white. The touch of colour (very neutral chromatism) is represented by this dry-calla flower and just a touch of ivory and brown in the little seashell. The ceramic piece used here is one of my Japanese Chawan or Cup for the Tea ceremony in Raku ceramic. I have a little collection of this tea cups and I like to use them in my Still life, they have fantastic textures, irregular shapes and a wonderful translucent surface with visible craquelures. This white Chawan is one of my favourite and to my opinion it is.....very photogenic. Thanks for the visit Paola Link to comment

paolamarinangeli 0 Posted January 19, 2009 Dear Hiroya first of all thanks for yr nice comments on my photo 'Still life in White', you have probably understood that I have a great admiration for Japanese Arts and Culture and having some Japanese tea-ceremony bowls and finding the raku ceramic extremely elegant, fascinating and beautiful I am glad to use them in my still life compositions, you will see other in my portfolio in a near future. Visiting your portfolio with many nice shots (the architecture and landscapes are great) I have found fantastic photos taken during a NOH performance and I can not resist to put a comment on one of these photo, the one I like more. I had the chance to see some NOH performances and it is an experience to be lived, once in a life....the great aesthetic, culture, religion, traditions and arts of Japan are expressed so beautifully in NOH theater and the texts are full of poetry. All the very best Paola Link to comment

leslienicolephoto 7 Posted February 3, 2009 I really like the high-key tones of this photo and the "balance" of elements. There is a delicate sense of temporary stasis. A ballet pose that will momentarily pirouette off in a leap. Link to comment
