hyzdic 0 Posted January 10, 2009 Jim, this was really well seen and approached with a simplistic and minimal efforts that I truly love. If I may, I would lead it to the ultimate end: crop from the top so that the horizon is in the middle and move the boat out of the center... :-) But still, I think this deserves printing big and enjoying! lonebearimages 0 Posted January 10, 2009 Beautifully seen and captured. I agree that the composition might be improved a tad by shifting the canoe/boat off-center. You might consider leveling the lake horizon too; it dips down on the right side. Wonderful color palette. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
JimCowan 0 Posted January 11, 2009 Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately this image has been scanned from a 35 mm slide and the quality of the scan is rather poor. I have attempted to crop it in the revised image and thank you Chris I have adjusted the horizon. Thanks again, Jim Link to comment

samaltman 0 Posted January 12, 2009 I prefer the crop too, even with the loss of quality (have you tried noise reduction software? might work for this). Excellent image! Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted January 12, 2009 Noise ninja and NEAT are a couple of noise reduction software that work well. In some cases you lose detail but what i do in a case (seldom) like that is to layer the noise reduction image on the 'original' image and then paint in the the areas that need the most noise reduction. ryourth 0 Posted January 21, 2009 In my humble opinion, believe your original image is best. Realize the boat is in the centre, but why is the boat considered the centre of attention. To me , the lines of the hills are more important, making the image complete & balanced. The cropped version is not as balanced with the loss of the black rising hill on the right.Best Regards-Ross Link to comment
