cub 0 Posted November 8, 2002 Hey folks, I took that shot using superia 800, then desaturated it and warmed it a bit, but my question is more about movement, what do you think about the movement in that shot, how do you achive to give movement to your own shots, the speed there was 60 and the aperture 5 though... thank you for help, I am avaiting advises more than rating ! exploitz 0 Posted November 12, 2002 I like this photo, good idea. Suggestions for improvement? It would be better if one of the subjects (ie guy in the center) was in better focus. Everything in the background should be crisp too. This would have been easier to achieve by taking the photo from a tripod. Interesting subject matter though. Link to comment
cub 0 Posted November 12, 2002 I wanted on that shot everything on the move, and it include the background, in order to extract the sensation of speed so the reader cannot stay on one only point, but just get a general feeling of movement that take him with... Anyway, it is quite impossible to get a better focus on the man in the center, because he is realy fast, try to get a formula 1 in focus with everything moving around it, it will be possible because you can guess where it will go, in Aikido, it is much harder to feel where the subject is going, I think I will be better in 20 years to take that kind of shot, when I will improve my Aikido ! cedarc 0 Posted November 12, 2002 Perhaps a slightly faster shutter speed would be better. The sense of speed is nice and IMO the perfect thing to portray in this scene. Link to comment
cub 0 Posted November 13, 2002 I wish I could have a bit faster speed, but I couldn't, using a superia 800, and aperture of 5, I couldn't use less than 60 in speed to get something to work with on the negative. Link to comment
ci_p 0 Posted November 15, 2002 I think the movement of the protagonists is captured brilliantly. The person kneeling down, and the person sitting at his desk are distracting, as are the lines on the floor and the stuff on the wall. These things take the viewer's focus away from *aikido* and towards the dojo and the examination. I'm sure that the *examination* is very important for the people involved, but IMHO, is not the best photo subject. Link to comment
shamaho 0 Posted November 21, 2002 great composition and in mono works beautifull. It just works because of the slow shutter speed ! Link to comment
