Thank you so much for your kind comments and visit :)

I loved your shot a lot but was in a hurry today and couldn't write a comment ...

This is a great close up with perfect wb and sharpness.

Congrats and best regards.

I echo B.C. Okmen's comment - great color balance, exposure and DOF - 7/7 - PN will only allow me to give a 6/6 but if I remember in a couple of weeks, I will change it.

PS because of my likes and dislikes, if you had this taken late or early morning where there is a warmer light and a possibility of soft shadows on the petals, it would enhance the aesthetic appeal for me. However you have a pristine white which is also very appealing.

Sandra, Nice shot and I like the feel of it, but something isn't working for me. I a;most wonder if it wouldn't be more interesting with basicall just the center of the flower and very little petals. Ther is a great quality, color and texture there that seems to be getting lost in all of the white. -- Charles

B.C., Tony and Charlie-

Thanks for your comments. I checked my EXIF data that Nikon View extracts: I shot this on 26 March 2007 at 18:05. I have always used a flash with macro, and the Nikon SB800 is "killer." The flower was very white after it opened, but very ivory as a bud and before it fully opens. I don't use a warming filter...but your comments got me to thinking, So, I just cropped the photo big time, cranked in some yellow highlight and 22% warming filter in CS2 and uploaded "Bejeweled Cropped" into my Flowers album. Have a look and tell me what you think... there is definitely a subtle difference. and thanks again for sharing your thoughts and reactions!

Sandra, the magnolia is my favorite flower, and I love how you captured it in such a pure way. I love the details, and especially how you got the center flower in muted tones and sharpness.

Liz- Thank you for stopping by and for the good words! I was pretty happy with the way the center detail turned out.
