dwaugh 0 Posted January 3, 2009 This is across the street from my house and I have seen this shot a few times before but the blackberries on the edge of the road kept me back. This time I wanted the shot and decided to walk over them, and I think it was quite well worth it. Let me know how you like this shot. Thanks, and happy new year! Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 3, 2009 Very nice composition, light and colors, David! This looks like my territory in upper Michigan. Regards, Dick Link to comment
davidmeiner 3 Posted January 4, 2009 Certainly worth the trouble and effort, David! I think this scene is excellent. Great colors and lighting. Nice, soft snow (crunchy snow maybe?). You caught that lighting just right though. Link to comment
dwaugh 0 Posted January 4, 2009 Thanks. The snow on the ground was frozen and crunchy, but what you see is actually iced over water, with a little bit of fresh snow on top. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted January 4, 2009 Hey David, this is very well seen and rendered. While I might be tempted to push the blacks a little for some added contrast, I think the way it is is probably true to the moment. I am gonna say a midtone contrast bump would be more appropriate. If you are using the latest version of ACR, the clarity slider will do that for you. It is a good composition and has good flow. The cattails add even more interest. Really nice work, your effort paid off big! Link to comment
dwaugh 0 Posted January 4, 2009 Someone else has also mentioned about adding contrast, but contrast has already been added and any more, as you said, would exaggerate it. I use Paint Shop Pro 5... Thanks for the comment. Link to comment
floris2 0 Posted February 21, 2009 What beautiful soft light! I agree a slight bump in contrast would help, but I would selectively apply it to the trees in the back - the foreground looks perfect. Great work! Link to comment
