I was wandering along the breakwater in later afternoon taking photos of the ergrets

feeding. I'd been watching this one. As several high-pitched calls pierced the air, this

egret fluffed and flaired all of its feathers. I recognized the call as one of a predator,

looked up, saw the Peregrine Falcon, then shot this photo. By looking up I missed the

"max fluff" - but it was still an interesting capture of a wild-life response. Photo has

minimum post processing; water color is exactly as it was on that afternoon.
