I have a problem with images like this exploiting poverty and disrespecting its victims. If you are going to photograph them, I think you should pay them well. My wife got on me for taking similar images several years ago in Paris. She was right.

I was in Prague last summer and saw many beggars like this, prostrate with hat in hand. I took a similar photo, also at the Charles Bridge, but of a young man in his 20's. This photo has a very golden aspect, like an HDR, but I don't think it is HDR. Some kind of post processing? I think I'd de-process it a little. Nice capture though.

Thanks for your comments. I usually give some money to the beggers, specially if there are children involved, and do not make any business from them.

This image is indeed very dramatic. It is difficult for us to understand how come this happens to these persons.

The photo is a standard ISO 1600 and 50mm 1.8 (@ 2.2) on my D300 taken with available lightsources at Charles bridge. It has a bit of color retouchings and nothing else.

Below there is a "normal" professing of the same NEF.
