This photo was taken at a zoo through filthy glass, when I have asked

others if this picture looks foggy they say they dont think it is, I think it

does look foggy but I dont know if that is why I am not entirely happy

with this pic. It might be that the Mandrill is not really engaged and that

is why I am not happy, maybe I have just looked at it too many times!

ramble ramble ramble! - great looking creature though!

Lisa...

Good shot.... I see the slight haze you mention. Being more visual than verbal, here's a shot at playing with the light levels and a little unsharp mask. If you don't like it, I'll be glad to remove.... Mike

Mike, I LOVE what you have done! I had no idea that could be fixed. Which program did you use? Thanks I would love to know how you did this! Cheers, Lisa.

Lisa... I am definitly low tech with my editing and use PhotoShop Elements 6.0. In this case I adjusted the light levels to increase the midrange values a tad and then used the dodge tool to brush in a little light to the eyes and whiskers and burn some of the highlights around the perimeter. I finished up with some unsharp mask to help in posting. Now, a little change goes a long way when editing so all the values were kept low.

Not sure what software you have, but there are many here on PN that can give better instructions when using layers and masking to edit.

Just jump in and give it a try. The changes should look even better on the original file. Good luck... Mike
