LindaM 2 Posted January 1, 2009 Jack, i am sitting here on New Year's morning, so probably the timing is influencing my impression, but it seems as if he is bowing to the passing year. this is wonderfully composed. a classic which i think should be in a museum. thank you for all of your inspiration and encouragement! samcisa 0 Posted January 1, 2009 For some reason I really like the noise in shadows. Gives it another feeling. One of your best images for me. Link to comment
celasun 0 Posted January 1, 2009 I bow to him, and to you! A most unusual and intriguing scene. Even, otherworldly... You must have been very, very quick to see & compose this... Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted January 6, 2009 both graphics and human/social content are really so interesting Jack...I could never think of a traffic cop attitude like that in Europe or in the US...it's just incredible for me...(you probably had your compact camera and my rational part sees the noise but I enjoy this image immensely for its other merits I expressed above).... janc 0 Posted January 11, 2009 Hola Jack the fastest! Do you have a camera directly connected to your brain? and just with a blinking you shot like this. Great composition with those bright light diagonals and his shadow. Thanks for being so fast and precise. Abrazos. Link to comment
johnv 1 Posted January 12, 2009 Very well captured. Most go and see this eccentric world for myself some day. Link to comment

human images 4 Posted February 10, 2010 While checking out your Goodbye to Dick and Jane, an extraordinarily sad photograph ;-), I was fortunate to click the icon bottom right of the screen -- even as you know I’m a student of your work -- on a photograph I missed earlier. I never been to Japan and I’m not an enthusiast of all things Japanese. I only read a couple of fiction books by Japanese authors, and the biggest culture buzz from the island has been by far through the great Japanese movies I still visit. Also back in the seventies I was a fanatic GO player, and learned stuff through that connection as well. I supposed overtime I built a sort of idea of what Japan is like. But for the past two years, through the quality of your photographs and writings, my idea of Japan is far richer, become something other than the history I knew. An education that goes beyond photography.Traffic Cop Bowing To Pedestrians is a picture that perfectly describes the surreal Japan of my imagination. Link to comment
cyanatic 0 Posted August 17, 2012 Wow, Jack. I have absent far too long from your wonderful work. Strong, surreal, culturally emblematic... Link to comment
