t37traveler 0 Posted January 12, 2009 Simon, dare I say it , this is a "moo-ving photograph." You have nice placement and good size of the cows in the frame; however, the highlighted blade of grass over the brown cow's eye is distracting. I keep searching for the eye detail and see instead a light-colored strip instead. Perhaps you could have used curves to lighten the face in the shadows and to darken the lake in the background. I don't know how far you were from the subjects, but a good fill flash would have allowed you to shoot at a lower f stop to get better exposure of the very bright lake and good illumination of the shaded subjects. (Photos with great variation in shadow and highlight are always problematic, so I never leave home without my flash when shooting outdoors.) Link to comment
