Clouded Leopard at the Houston Zoo

good zoo capture of a desperately threatened specie, nice detail of fascinating musculature and fur patterns, and the gaze across the poor animals truncated world is haunting. the pink and green make good color highlights-- i agree some of the top could be cropped. overall sharp and compelling. cheers

I think this is a great photo of the animal and congrats on a great photo, I am just not wild about the suroundings, ie.. the bolt under his left foot and the back ground. That stuff has nothing to do with the quality of the photo, the zoo stuff is just not for me.

I agree with a tighter crop. Great photo of a wonderful animal. Great pose and expression on the cat. Good job!

These are just beautiful cats. I agree with the others on the tighter crop. If you have enough pixels in the original capture I might goes as far as cropping for a tight portrait of the face. But I leave that up to experimentation. All the best. -matt

Thank you all for your comments. I already cropped the top and it looks much better. I did try to hide the bolt with Photosop elements, but it did not look quite right. Maybe a little more playing with it will help. I just got Elements, so I'm learning that too. I'll be posting more as I progress.
