lightcarver 0 Posted November 2, 2002 The blend of the arc of the bridge with the fading evening light is spectacular! Excellent shot! Link to comment

stephanie_oswald 0 Posted November 3, 2002 Hey! A photo of the Newcastle bridge! What a surprise! The world is small...I live there! It'[s strange for me to see a photo of the bridge of photo.net. Apart from that, it's a very good photo indeed! Very nice colours, nice lights. Very beautiful! But I'm just wondering...why have you used a 100 ISO film for a night shot? Link to comment
bobby douglas 0 Posted November 4, 2002 How Many millennium bridge's are there Denver has one called that too. Good night shot But I don't see why it's rated so much better than my recent Las Vegas strip night shot that got shot down with 3's & 4's ... mg 0 Posted November 6, 2002 I'm sorry, but I feel this is way over-rated. It's a good shot, yes, but nothing really original, I believe. Then I don't think you found the right angle here. What's the subject ? The arcs, right ? Then why do we need this dark foreground corner left bottom ? You should imo have moved closer to the border.Film... Provia 100 !? Mmm... Why ? Provia typically leads toa lack of details in the shadows, as we can see here. Maybe not the best film for night scenes - imo. Overall, this shot is exposed for the sky, but everything on the ground is under-exposed. You needed a bit more exposure. If necessary, you could use an ND grad on the sky, but for 1/2 an f-stop, it wasn't even necessary...Of course, you have a wonderful sky here, and a good alignment of the 2 arcs, and an interesting perspective too. But it isn't optimal as far as I can tell. Best regards. Link to comment
