24 Hr Service (self-portrait)

Tripod, self-timer*, 1 sec exposure. Shot at f11 on a -- ?? -- can't remember much about the lens I used; it was a third-party 28-70 zoom which has long since died. I was holding a small speedlite with a blue gel over it; when I heard the shutter trip, I hand-fired it with my right thumb.

* Yeah, I know the K1000 doesn't have a self-timer. I used one of those little add-on self-timers that screwed into the shutter button.

So, you are open 24 Hours, Dave...? :-) Excellent image to me. Maybe a mild dodging on the dress, but it certainly works damn well overall for me. Cheers.

I just don't get the context of the person in the photo. Is it supposed to be a private eye type? I think a prostitue looking into her pocketbook with the light source in the pocketbook or looking into a compact (if you could conceal the light source that way) would have been more significant context with the "24 hour service" sign. Maybe I just have a sick mind! Great execution, though.
