THis is an odd photograph--it is very grainy (intentional I presume) and the highlights are totally blown (intentional also ?) but it *looks* like an IR photo (which it can't be, given the film) The odd striated artifacts in the top right are distracting, but overall I think it creates a wonderful "country" feel. Relaxing and peaceful. Nice!

That it isn't Ilford SFX!!

The grain gives it a really ephemeral feeling...and it really grabbed my attention..... Great photo, even if it is not "technically perfect" (I like the blown out highlights, it lends a real aura of mystery!)

I am laughing at the person above. There is no technical perfection in photography. If you believe that there is, you have taken too many photography courses. Perfection is the photograph that mystifies, attracts, and produces intense emotions or in turn takes all emotions away. Of course Im not the best rated photographer on this site, but I can tell you that perfection is the photograph that has an appeal to a large variety of people, and this one, in my opinion does. Nice work.

I really like this photo. I find the grain leaves a lot to the imagination. In fact, I wouldn't be too surprised to see a hobbit come strolling up the path, blowing a couple smoke rings out his pipe. You know, the good Shire weed.

Unlike the other commenters, I can't say I really like it. On the plus side for me: it creates a hint of a certain atmosphere and that may be what attracts a lot of people.

On the downside I don't like the totally blown out areas and the TMY grit. I'd be interested in knowing which developer you used. Also, the subject doesn't really appeal to me.

De gustibus et coloribus......
