mtfaidherbe1 0 Posted December 13, 2008 Lost the original in a computer crash... this is a very low weight version... is it enough pixels to be presented? I don't know. Thank you for your comments and rates. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted December 13, 2008 I would like to read more about it... what wall, what purpose, etc. The photos of morocco are very interesting to me. Eveything seems medieval overlooked and unusual. Not like Europe. Link to comment
mtfaidherbe1 0 Posted December 13, 2008 From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Asilah or Arzila (Arabic: أصيلة، أرزيلة) is a fortified town on the northwest tip of the Atlantic coast of Morocco, about 50 km from Tangier. Its ramparts and gateworks remain fully intact. Its history dates back to 1500 B.C., when the Phoenicians used it as a base for trade. The Portuguese conquered the city during the 15th century, but John III later decided to abandon it because of an economic crisis in 1549. In 1692, the town was taken by the Moroccans under the leadership of Moulay Ismail. From 1912-1956 it was part of Spanish Morocco. Asilah served as a base for pirates in the 19th and 20th centuries. A major plan to restore the town was undertaken in 1978. It is now a popular seaside resort, with modern holiday apartment complexes on the coast road leading to the town from Tangier. It hosts annual music and arts festivals. Meir, I did not find a specific explanation about this door and stair. Link to comment

ifti 1 Posted December 15, 2008 Interesting structure telling of its past glory. Thanks for the intro. Are these real colors or does it need a bit saturation? Link to comment

mtfaidherbe1 0 Posted December 22, 2008 I would like to make a general comment here about my use of photo.net in general. It has changed my view about my own pictures a lot. I realize that I can not be very objective about my own pictures, that is why I don't choose so much my pictures anymore and present most of them, and I see that some that I would have discard get great comments and other less... The comments I got taught me to correct some mistakes, and also raised my self-esteem a lot. As I had a difficult year, this site was of great help for me, and I would like to thank all of you. Wishing you all Happy Holidays, and an excellent New Year with plenty of beautiful pictures and great photo friends! Marie-Thérèse 22/12/2008 Link to comment
