feliciano 1 Posted December 7, 2008 Beautiful light and beautiful colours... and by the way you also have a beautiful portfolio. Best regards, I. Feliciano. Link to comment
hopsage 0 Posted December 8, 2008 Eric, this is an astonishing image. One of the most beautiful I've seen. I'm a sucker for red sunlight, sure, but the way you have it layered in between still-warm shadow areas is breathtaking. There's a nice, full range of depth of field, here, but the elements at infinity (on the cliff face opposite) are subtly hidden away, and in all the "wrong" places. Compositionally, it's very dynamic, too, with that strong curve starting just perfectly at the bottom right corner (good crop) and leading the eye through to the patch of featureless, deep blue across the way. Congratulations on this one. Straight to the favorites. Link to comment
harrylichtman 0 Posted December 8, 2008 Howdy Eric- I just missed you at the arch. You've captured th glow perfectly! I had seen many images of the arch before, and I was amazed how strong the glow was-no added saturation needed, in fact it may need to be toned down in an image. I visited the arch one day after you, on 11-23 to see it for myself. While some other photographers were jockeying for position in the center of the arch when I was there, I found your POV the most dynamic. My only comment is that the bush interrupts the clean lines of the rock and makes the view down into the canyon a little busy. My shots still in camera :( Regards, Harry Link to comment
crow0806 18 Posted December 10, 2008 This arch is so frequently photographed but I've never seen it from this angle. It blows me away. I love the bush in the foreground so that there is more than just sandstone. I was there a few years ago and no matter the angle it is worth the trip to see it. Link to comment
evphotography 0 Posted December 12, 2008 Thank you Richard, that was probably one of nicest compliments I have ever had. One thing I try to do when I visit icons like this is to try and capture it in a way that nobody else has, I don't like to try and copy others photographers sucess with a shot. I was very pleased myself with this image because I felt I had accomplished that. Link to comment
