I was on my belly for this one. That hike gets harder every time. I almost couldn't get

up. This is an HDR composite of 5 images. I think the colors are faithful to the sky and

clouds that day. Late afternoon the day after a hard Thanksgiving rain. Is is too

contrasty?

Real Nice Work!!! Contrast is perfect for my taste... Really like the lines, hues of orange and gold against the deep blue, Excellent lighting... Very Beautiful Composition!!!

I really like the rocks, great compostion has really nice feel of movement. Sky doesn't look natural to me, almost looks like it was photoshoped in, might be the HDR that did that. Also that one burned out cloud on top of rock peak keeps leading my eye away from main subject since it is the brightest part of the image, I would try to fix that if possible. Overall on nice shot.

This is one of the better compositions with these sandstone formations, I think, but I agree that the sky is a bit overdone (?excess tone mapping). I really like it anyway.

Thanks for the comments. In retrospect the sky does look quite overdone. It was more like the color of the sky in the lower right sky area. And that glaring white cloud in the center top area is now burning a hole in my retina. I put together 5 exposures on Photomatix and came out with this. I am rather new to HDR and haven't played around too much with it. I was much more focused on coming up with a fairly real representation of the rock colors and really disregarded the sky altogether while I was doing that. Oops. Back to the drawing board.

For may taste, a little less contrast would be better. Otherwise, I love this composition.
