Feather

Very interesting study of what appears to be the abstract aspect of nature. The textural play is very well accomplished and the compositional waves have a nice movement to them. The feather feels a bit forlorn grounded and partially buried as it is by the sands. I imagine it once lightly flying over this scene. Nice and soft color palette as well, making this one easy to watch and contemplate.

Thanks Fred. I share much of your sentiment. My only wish with the image is that I would like it if the base of the feather wasn't so white/un-detailed. But, I can't get anything more out of the file.

 

Sorry I've been so 'quiet' as of late -- busy days. I promise to be back more over/after Xmas.

I really, really like this. The feather definitely makes a statement, both in its presence as well as the impact it has on the surrounding sand ripples. It seems an understatement if I simply called this a strong image.
