You're about the only person I know who could take a picture of a *book* bizarre without a single *book* in sight ...... !

Tell me about your trip ..... business or pleasure? .......... first time there? - what did you think? ......... did you spend any time away from the red light district? .......... I certainly found it to be an amazing place.

HAHAHAHAHA....

It's the FIRST TIME that I realized there was no single book in this picture!! Actually it was shot in summer 2007. I visited my friend there for 5 days. Stayed in Istanbul only to find that 5 days are way to short to see the entire city. I spent most of my time in Sultanahmet area and Eminonu (tourist sites) during the day and Taksim area (more modern and locals' site) during the night. People were very friendly (with some curiosity) and I loved their foods too. Wish to visit again next time...

One of the cats is one-eyed (and speaks Turkish). Sorry that he/she lost one, but it's kind of cool (he/she's got the attitude, I think).

Must have been quite an experience. I've not been to that part of the world but hope to some day.

They sure keep the streets clean, don't they?

Yeah, that was my first time to travel abroad, not just landing on a territory (for airplane transfer). I think the streets were very clean considering the size of the crowd (probably dirtier than in Singapore?). There were some tricky peddlers but most of the people were very nice and friendly and welcoming.

If I had read that comment not knowing who you were thinking of I would say it was Denmark and the Danish people you were talking of.

Lovely cats and of course there are no books - cats don't need books. They allready know what life is all about - reproduction, food, sleep and food.

Hi Bente, good to see you. Now I think visiting Denmark will be great too. :) And yes they know everything they need. I wish I do too.
