bob_belanger 1 Posted December 5, 2008 The exposure is excellent and the lighting and contrast are beautiful. This one stands out for me simply for the rich colors in the turf and the beautiful sky. Also, the muted tones of the building are more dramatic in this version. Link to comment
mtfaidherbe1 0 Posted December 6, 2008 I love both, but it is most probably more difficult to make an interesting color version of this kind of place, and this one is. Link to comment
mareval 2 Posted December 6, 2008 Particularly prefer this one colorful version. Good work!! Link to comment
vadima 0 Posted December 7, 2008 I certainly like the color version more, but admittedly I am almost always biased to color images. The composition is nice. I wonder if you also tried a wider panoramic view with more columnade shown on the right. Best regards, Vadim Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted December 7, 2008 Bob, it was an interesting shot to work on, and as an HDR it worked pretty well. I think that I also did a layer mask on the sky because there was a "halo" around the building. Glad you liked it. Marie-Thérèse, thanks again. It was a bit difficult to make this as interesting as it was in real life. There were incredible variations of exposure that had to be managed, which was why I did the HDR. Glad you enjoyed it. Marta, glad to see you back. It's time for me to get over to your portfolio, since it has been too long. Pierre, thanks again. Glenn, glad you enjoyed the shot. Was fun to work on. Vadim, it would be great to have a shot with more of the cloisters on the right hand side, but I would need one amazing lens! The rest of the cloister is in New York at the Cloisters Museum :) All that is left is in this shot. Thanks for your kind words. Link to comment
