Morocco, with its new king, Mohammed VI is a country in transitional democracy. Improvment in human rights has been very huge, even if a lot of progress has still to be done.

I took the picture in Rabat, Morocco, during a play commemorating Ben Barka disappearance.

To be honest, most of the play was in Arabic, so I did not understand what they were saying, but it was obviously tragic.

Part of the commemoration was Arabo-andalou music, that is why I was there, in spite of not understanding Arabic.

I would like to make a general comment here about my use of photo.net in general.

It has changed my view about my own pictures a lot. I realize that I can not be very objective about my own pictures, that is why I don't choose so much my pictures anymore and present most of them, and I see that some that I would have discard get great comments and other less...

The comments I got taught me to correct some mistakes, and also raised my self-esteem a lot.

As I had a difficult year, this site was of great help for me, and I would like to thank all of you.

Wishing you all Happy Holidays, and an excellent New Year with plenty of beautiful pictures and great photo friends!

Photo en plein spectacle ! Etonnante qualité ! Je te propose une coupe carrée de façon à rapprocher les trois visages autant que possible de la plus forte des diagonales. Ciao, Alx

I cannot read the comment but if it is about croppiing.... In my eyes the crop on the right side "works"; the crop on the left does not. The wrist and hand or at least part of the hand are important. They stop the arm from just running out of the photo into "nowhere" -give closure to the photo. And the hand/wrist touch the frame exactly at the corner which again gives "closure". These are "aesthetic" features missing in the cropped version. "Closure" as in the hands in "NIno" and the "Children Rabat..." and many more -the frame fits the photo. Just something I feel. My 2 shekels worth.

yes Meil, but the idea in the crop is to put the three faces in a square. I agree with what you say, but i agree too that the crop is very interesting, i like it.

I have been absent for a while, but i'll be back soon with new photos.
