The Other Direction

I like this shot a lot. Too bad you couldn't have captured the detail of the tree tho, rather than having it black. Other than that it's a good shot. Congrats. BTW, did you use a Grad ND? Looks as if you did.

the classic scene of monument valley is about 180 degrees from this scene.

it was hard to turn my back on the classic scene, but i liked what i was

seeing in this, 'The Other Direction'. all thoughts, comments and critiques

are greatly appreciated. thanks!!

Definately a unique shot of Monument Valley. I like the perspective and I like framing the rock with the very unique tree. Two things I would have considered; crop closer to use the tree even more of a frame, shooting this with the sun behind you to bring out the color of the tree and the rock.

I am not at all bothered by the darkness of the tree. It seems to fit well within the landscape and provides a strong frame to the BG butte. This is really an interesting and unique view from Monument Valley. Congrats!
