katzpjs 50 Posted December 1, 2008 With such a magnificent shot such as this, you have very little that you need to learn about photography. It is I who is filled with envy when I see photographs of this quality. Fire can be so devastating but for a photographer it can leave such stark beauty too. This image will take First Prize at a photo contest. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 2, 2008 You like it that much? Wow, thanks. It might be worthwhile to go back up there after a little snow... Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted December 3, 2008 The trees are really great Kim get some more photos of them in the snow while they are still standing. They are really great subjects! You will not be sorry that you went back for more. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 4, 2008 You've inspired me. There isn't any snow yet, but I plan to go back tomorrow. It would be nice if the clouds would cooperate. Thanks! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 5, 2008 I went back today and all these trees have collapsed. Beauty in ashes. Link to comment
fischerphotos 0 Posted December 5, 2008 Yes I do hunt (and fish). Texas is perfect for that. Thank you for commenting my photo. Your portfolio is awesome. Link to comment

bradkim 8 Posted December 30, 2008 Excellent composition, Kim! I wish these burned trees were in my neighborhood so that I could visit frequently. Visiting this location after snowfall is an excellent idea. I hope you would try various different lenses for different effects.... Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 30, 2008 Thanks Brad! I would have loved to photograph them in the snow, but they have collapsed. This was taken less than a month after the fire, and now the wind has broken them all off. Link to comment
l_greene 0 Posted December 31, 2008 This is too cool-too bad they're gone now. That view through the hole in the trunk looks wild. Link to comment
