Great shot, unusual perspective without a reflection from a plane window! What the world must have looked like several million years ago? Hope you got an opportunity to get into the jungle? I almost wish this image was a hair sharper, but I gave you a six anyway, as the soft focus works with the mist in the shot fortunately. Nice capture! Surprised you used a polarizer under these conditions, was there any benefit with this filter?

Very surreal. I like to "flow" to the right by the volcanoes. I do however feel the shot is a little flat(there was nothing you could do about the lighting).

wow..love the colors!!! I would have loved to have been there to see this. Ilike how the sky seems to be dipping down from the left...gorgeous moment in time.

The contours are a dream - I especially like the way the clouds in the top 3rd seem to mirror the fg curves, almost like a halo. Good depth, the volcano and its skywriting quite clear. Atmospheric tones.

I too am a tad surprised that a polariser was used with 100 film in this type of lighting. I'd have worried about shadow detail were my camera wearing shades. Didn't seem to matter in the end - the subdued effect lends a good juxtaposition, all seems very calm until the eye meets "The Fire."

Congratulations, I enjoyed.

Thanks for all the kind words. The light had a natural terrific blue hue to it, (possibly the altitude over 12000 ft and the time of day) and the polarizer enhanced the blue / and made the volcanic smoke stand out. I'll upload another image of the valley looking the other way to show the blue light.

Regards, Ryan
