sumon_mukherjee 0 Posted December 2, 2008 Thanks my friends for your appreciations and strong supports. I feel proud to know that you all like this picture so much. Vladimir and Piet, this is really a remote valley and not very easy to reach there. Ram Dayal jee this is 2008 and you are thinking about 1988. Now you can have some jeeps to cover a part of the journey. From Jomsom air port you have to walk approximately 2.5 Km and then you have to cross the Kali Gandaki river. There is a narrow footbridge. You may cross the bridge with your motorcycle. From there you may avail of a jeep to cross Kali Gandaki valley. It takes approximately an hour to climb Muktinath from the place where the jeeps stop. That road is challenging. Local people told me an amazing story about the jeeps. Some jeeps were carried by helicopters and were placed in the valley. The jeeps neither can reach Muktinath nor can cross Kali Gandaki river to come this side. They are just moving to-and –fro. You may have a helicopter service from Pokhara to Mukhtinath. This is not a regular service. Thanks every body for stopping in. Best regards. Link to comment
