gottfriedbinder 0 Posted October 27, 2002 I like that but it lacks some more contrast I think - it lookes washed out (without a clear white). Composition, angle is good. Take care. Link to comment
joe_hodge 271 Posted October 29, 2002 The streetlight shining through the man's head bothers me. Probably nothing to do about it, but I'd much prefer the shot not have him in it at all. Link to comment
jpdumas 0 Posted October 29, 2002 I like the picture - the light on the man's shoulder is unfortunate however Link to comment
laura2 0 Posted November 27, 2002 Hey, I thought your picture would be a lot more powerful with more emphasis upon the streak of light and the guy with the headlight over his face with a good crop and tint. This is my handiwork. Tell me what you think. :) Link to comment
cnaan_liphshiz 0 Posted December 2, 2002 Laura, your "handiwork" is, as much as I hate to admit it, probably just what this shot needs. It took care of all that milky hazy blur. I hate to admit this seeing as I'm a die-hard no-photoshop-in-my-back-yard purist. Silly, I know. You did give me some second thoughts (thank you very much...), though. Cheers! Link to comment
Uhooru 2,207 Posted January 14, 2003 I think its cool and in my mind goes along with the pic. Sort of like the alien ship just ripped through and there is now an energy glow instead of a head. I think it adds. Link to comment
touchel berne 0 Posted January 31, 2003 I like this photo. It's kind of exciting. I'd like to encourage you to use photoshop for simple contrast/levels adjustments though. I understand the purist position, however if the use of photoshop is limited to the types of things that you can do in the darkroom, then I don't believe that there's any significant compromise. Now, if you were to colorize it, or add UFO's to the sky, that would be silly. But making levels adjustments is solidly within the gamut of purist photography. This picture definitely benefits from it. I like that the streetlamp is blotting out the man's head. It's a good city picture. Link to comment
