This had all the right ingredients to catch my eye, from the thumbnail alone: strong lines, beautiful color and color contrast. I like the way that every part of the distant background has some color detail. It's usually difficult to shoot scenes like this without blowing out some background highlights, even on an overcast day. The near-panoramic aspect ratio is an unusual choice, and does a nice job of emphasizing the sense of breadth in the scene. Did you crop from the top or the bottom?
