Incredible shot. The closed eyes and hair blowing tell a great story, a relaxing walk in the fields, a conversation almost, where we want to see the rest of the expressions and moments the photographer/conversationalist might have evoked. I've thought a great deal about how to put people at ease, and allow them to behave naturally in front of the camera, and you seem to have done it here. Why do you have only one photo posted, with all those great cameras?. I'd love to see more.

The bale of hay is by no means distracting. All view points are subjective. There is no aboslute correct answer. Either way, with or without the hay, it's a great shot.

After reading previous comments about the hay being a distraction, I played with it in photoshop...taking the hay out of the image. I found that without the hay, the photo is unbalanced and feels less interesting. For me, the hay places the girl in a "real" environment, and with her expression, I feel as someone mentioned previously....serenity. The focus on the hay is diffused enough for it not to be a distraction, but rather an intregral part of the composition, giving the image balance. Nice job.

Personally I think the whole picture works. It's just a really engaging photo. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of your work.

The roll of hay adds a since of place, along with

the field and the clouds. I like the depth of

field it adds and the way it breaks up the horizon... this is a nice shot.

I like the black and white picture it has a calm air about it. The hay in the background distracts a little from the suject other then that this is an excellent picture which is well shot and has a calm feel about it. The technique is very good and moment caught well.
