aginbyte 0 Posted November 22, 2008 ... the shadow curving through the snow back to the barn is a great touch, Jim. I also like the blue color in the tree shadow and the loving framing of the building itself. Nice work.
nachosaezdeugarte 0 Posted November 22, 2008 Great atmosphere and composition, Jim. Very beautiful. Regards
luckykimbo 0 Posted November 22, 2008 I'm a novice photog, yearning for a DSLR, currently using a fixed lens Fuji S700 - but i love this photo. If it is a mostly unmanipulated photo, I find the colors crisp, clean, & true to a winter scene. I especially like the tree in the foreground framing the house.
jim kerr 0 Posted November 22, 2008 Hello Kimberly, well heck we all started at sometime in our lives. As for me, It was 1968, got my first 35...a Kowa seT with a non interchangable 55 f 1.8 or was it a 50 f 1.8.........As for this, I did adjust the color balance a little as well as the contrast, as most ever slide that I have needs both, at least a little........Here, I lightened the tree's shadow and the tree trunk to get what little detail there might be........This is a very difficult subject with the brightness of the whites compared to the virtual blacks of the tree bark( black walnut's bark is very dark anyway)......The original slide was exposed at theoretical perfect exposure with the proper adjustment for the polarizing filter........Jim P.S. sorryy I probably told you more than you wanted to know....
scotpicture 0 Posted November 23, 2008 Lovely colours and composition Jim, like the tree framing. Donny
