alight 0 Posted November 21, 2008 beautiful colours. Especially the rich blue contrasted by the creamy white. The photo has an optimistic feel, though I think the composition itself is so-so. I mean the framing is OK, but the face of the barn with the adjacent sheds don't do anything to tickle my photographic taste, so to speak; I viewed this photo because of the colours, not because of the composition. Perhaps it's because of the small sheds. They seem to haphazardly take the space on the right and don't do anything for the photo. If you composed the photo so there would be the barn, the tree on the left, and the lawn in the front, it would look much better (if that was possible). Cheers, Micheal
jim kerr 0 Posted November 22, 2008 Thanks Mike, for your detailed critique......Just out of curiousity, have you spent a number of years in a camera club? Do I ever have a number of compositions of this barn, perhaps at least a hundred......been shooting this barn since about 1980.....I'll put another one on shortly........Jim
alight 0 Posted November 22, 2008 no, I've never been a member of a camera club and I don't even want to be. Yeah, I like pictures of barns, and the tasty blue, green and white colours look great. Cheers, Micheal
