Ian,

Many thanks for taking the time to help my process of discovery. I've subscribed to the podcasts and will start hunting through them.

Ian;

As is always the case, an interesting read is to be had by visiting your pages. I had a bit of catching up to do since the last time I visited this image. I'll add my voice to the thanks extended by others for your taking the time to respond so thoroughly to inquires and the wealth of links and advice you have provided.

This one is stunning, I have never been to Oregon but I have been to the west coast on the western side of Vancouver island and this stirs up memories of morning walks on Long beach. The toning here reinforces the contemplative mood this image evokes. I find the composition balanced and I like the flow , particularly from front to back. The fine and sharp lines of the creek contrasting with the darkness of the surrounding sand, sets up the slow dissolution of tones and clarity which the morning fog imposes on the scene as it recedes. That initial sharpness is what sets this apart from the more standard foggy morning seascape. I love how your angle of view renders the creek so very narrow at one point, like a silver sliver.

Just magnificent! Beautiful composition and the toning job is nothing short of amazing Ian. This is going into my favorites for further viewing and study.

Hi Ian,

Just stumbled across this - I love the parallel ridges, the ribbon of relection along the bottom, the foggy background, the pano format. It all works for me. Great one!
