landauer 0 Posted October 23, 2002 The rich tonality of this image is very appealing, and the vantage point is well chosen. Great image. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted October 24, 2002 First impression is one of a type of space settlement, a galaxy of its own glittering against an inky blue sky (it's a beautiful sombre blue.) Then one looks around for a catch, usually some distracting element - and normally in the fg. But there's none. I never get results like this when shooting in low light with digital! It's a beautiful creation, superb composition and exposure, loaded with "we lit the night" impact. Great work, John. Link to comment

toby_tyler 0 Posted October 27, 2002 Nice shot. Looks close to dusk, nice sky colour. Good comp. and exposure. Link to comment
erin_____grasshopper__rice 0 Posted October 28, 2002 Great scene. But something looks...wrong... The sky.. like the other close up of the needle..looks blotchy and grainy... Link to comment
john_paskey 0 Posted October 28, 2002 C`mon, I know the pic is far from perfect but I certainly don`t think it`s a 2 for aesthetics! Link to comment
joe grimes 0 Posted November 7, 2002 I was in Seattle back in August and heard about this place (Kerry Park?). Awesome vantage point of the sky-line. Your picture came out so much better than mine. This is post-card quality. Great shot! I'm also suprised that there are no light trails from passing aircraft (planes and helicopters). Link to comment
erin_____grasshopper__rice 0 Posted December 28, 2002 A 2 may be to low..but something really bugs me about it...it's like the needle was pasted into the picture...It just...seems...off No offense intended...I guess I'm just weird. Link to comment
john_paskey 0 Posted February 15, 2003 No offense taken. It might be because of the position. The space needle is actually a couple hundred yards in front of the buildings and Seattle being next to the ocean, really shows the distance of photos taken because of the mist/fog coming off the sound. Just to show the perspective, the tall building ( tallest in photo ) just to the right of the space needle is probably almost 2 times taller than the needle itself (could be closer to 3 times but I know it`s much taller). Nothing was pasted and there was only very minor PS work done to correct color. Anyone who has been to Kerry Park in Seattle can verify that this is a true view of Seattle. --- Any arguments to this comment are welcome. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 19, 2003 This is not a pasted photo. For those who are into shooting photos of Seattle, this is taken from a very popular spot which the locals are familiar with.Pretty good shot with your G2. Link to comment
urban photographer 0 Posted April 28, 2003 Great photo. The space design of the needle and the before mentioned paste look really adds to the photo. The needle looks to me like a UFO, that just landed in Seattle. And since nothing was done in PS, i like it a lot. Link to comment
