Up a Creek #1

You might want to be more selective in your postings. This one is really good, but some of the others you have just posted seem weak by comparison.

 

What's good about this? The compositon with a "s" curve leading the eye through, the tones and colors and sharpeness and the hazy far away mountains. It has many levels for the eye to move through.

Plenty of depth. Lots to look at in the foreground. Like it!

The eye always goes to the lightest spot so beware again of bald skies. crop off the white on top and you'll see that the eye stays down around the rocks and other points of interest.

Your compositions continue to improve and this is one of your best. The cool light is not as flattering as warmer light would be and the colors are not as saturated as I would like. The shot might benefit from a polarizer and a warming filter. Carl is right about the white sky but I don't think it would be as much of a problem if the foreground was a bit brighter and more saturated.

I would agree with the other posters from the circle in that you have shown remarkable improvement in the last couple of months. This is also in my opinion your best. Very well done compositionally speaking...the sky certainly didn't help you here but even as is it is far from horrible. Good job. Keep shooting.
