Surreal Winter Morning

I am afraid this might be a big mistake but I am trying to take chances so here goes.

This is an image from an sunrise on the mountains in British Columbia. The sun was

trying to break through the clouds from the left side. The mountain was full of mist that

was coming in and out. The sun created a strong highlight which I choose to not

correct as I wanted to convey the impression of the light source. There is a mix of cool

tones and a hint of pinks from the early morning light that was present. I realize this

image will not work for most people but I am trying to create more of a painterly style

to my images.

Well, this image works quite well for me- I think the soft pastels are lovely. The pinks on the snow are really delicate, and the almost green light on the top left is interesting. In any case- this image was good enough to push me to look at the rest of you portfolio- and I have to say, you have some really really gorgeous work in there. I will be back when I have more time to look, thanks for sharing! Deborah

This is a great example of a risk paying off. That is some mighty awkward lighting you are dealing with there, and I think you made it work quite well, especially with those pastels in the foreground.

I like the mood and colors on the photography. I am not entirely sure about the foreground. I think it will be nicer if you would concentrate only on one of the bush. Most likely the left one, light is more interesting there.
