steve_lowther 0 Posted November 25, 2008 You have some very good elements here. One of the problems is blown highlights in her hair. That is remedied usually by cloning, but this time I drew selections with the lasso tool over the blown highlights and drug them to areas where the hair has detail, copied it ( C), made it jump back where it was ( Z), and pasted it ( V). I then when to Layer Style and used the opacity control to fade it out. Sometimes if it still didn't show enough detail, I boosted the contrast the the Brightness/Contrast control. After each one I flattened the image. Using the Elliptical Marquee Selection tool feathered at 60 pixels, I selected an oval just over her face. I then used the Brightness/Contrast control to brighten her face, upping the contrast a bit as well. I then selected a larger oval but omitted selecting her hair with the EMS tool at the same feather and selected the inverse. I used the Brightness/Contrast control to darken outside of the oval. I dodged the scleras (the whites of the eye) and the catch lights of the eye for extra "pop". I also added an edge treatment. If you don't find my suggestions helpful, then please send me an email and I will be happy to delete them for you. Link to comment
