seven 0 Posted October 17, 2002 Good detail of the musculature, and the intense concentration in the faces. Very tight composition. I like the way you've captured so they appear to be running downhill. The lane lines lend a graphic interest. Link to comment
arda 0 Posted October 17, 2002 As the creator of these images, I think that the similar one of the men's 100m (you may view the photo in this folder) is a much nicer photograph. Yet, the other photo has not even had a rating or comment while this photo has been viewed far fewer times and has been rated (and somewhat highly, thanks for that!) and commented on. Why is that? What makes this photo more appealing to the viewers? Link to comment
jferland 0 Posted October 20, 2002 Compared to your 3 other track photos, this one is the most appealing because all the runners are in a line, and you can see closer detail especially of their faces which have an even greater expression of sheer determination. This one also shows the front of the runners the best, rather than just the side. It also looks like they have some synch to them. Above all, it just has this capture of something that can't be explained and is simply an artistic talent... Link to comment
venkat1 0 Posted October 21, 2002 Whats that in blue bang in the middle behind the arms of those two athletes ??? its someone standing there isn'tit ?? of course its not your fault...but without that, this would have been a perfect 7. Link to comment
arda 0 Posted October 21, 2002 That was a field marshall and no matter how hard I tried to wave her off, she insisted on standing there and ruining a perfect 7! Link to comment
syano 0 Posted October 21, 2002 I think it is the angles of the lines of the arms, legs, track and shadows that makes this more dynamic than the other photos. The tight composition, compressed depth of field and the yellow and white shoes hovering over the angled lines of the converging sections of track give the photograph its ephemeral sense and sense and locate it in time. Maybe cropping the other photos at different angles and in closer would do the same thing for them, or, then again, maybe not. Link to comment
