Beautiful! Especially the horizontal line: it de-concretizes the image. It changes the common 3D perspective into a cloth scene plus a 2D background, just like on the scene of a theatre. And this ambiguity makes it sublime. It' s one of the most beautiful compositions I've ever seen. Thank you for sharing it with us.

... in Portugal. My country has an endless variety of reasons to photograph... this one is very good, but reminds me a pic of a friend that is also in this site, Miguel Mealha. Take a look at his New York pics with his Leica M6.

This is a very nice photo, but the glare cutting down the right side made me think at first that there was something wrong with the print. The glare is really quite distracting, but other than that I give it a score of "I like it."

Interesting composition and perspective. The exposure is right on, providing good detail in the shadow areas and light areas are not overexposed. B&W is the right choice for this picture, color would not effectively recreate the atmosphere as well.

I've reviewed the photo's of the week several times and this is one that keep bringing back to review it again. I love the raindrops, the tiles, the person running. Excellent work.

i was scrolling through Pictures of the week and this caught my eye, as with the cobbles it had to be Portugal, where I go often with my Leica.

It is original in capturing a rainy scene, but with the bright Portuguese light. It balances nicely the static with the dynamic and is a pleasure to look at.

I have a (quite serious) suggestion for photonet:

Let's have a new rule: Anytime someone says:'Reminds me of Cartier-Bresson' or 'It almost

looks like a painting',they'll have to put ten

bucks into the poor box.
