Sandstone Sunset

The surreal glow in this canyon gives the illusion of a desert sunset over the buttes of monument valley.

You've seen the photos, but you've got to see it in person. Antelope

Canyon is one of the wonders of the world IMO.

Great nature abstract!, the different stone layers and it perspective creates a really nice effect and the different quantity of light across the tunnel gives more emphasis to the object creating an stunning ambience .One question, the lighting is daylight or artificial? Thanks in advance

The light is completely natural. That's what makes this place one of the wonders of the world!

I've seen quite a few photographs of this place, and this one ranks at the top of my list. You've done an excellent job with the framing, contrast, and capturing the colors. It really makes me wish that I hadn't passed by this canyon a few years ago without even knowing it was there...

wow, quite different from what I saw so far. Vertical view combined with the natural light adds drama, I believe.

Cool shot Michael! Tremendous quality of light, and excellent composition. Tough to beat natures abstracts.

All the best,

Michael, sadly I drove by this place a dozen times over the years before learning it even existed. This is wonderful and moving and technically well done, as is always the case with your posted images. Thank you.

I just returned from five days around Death Valley and I invite you over for a peek.

Beautiful as Antelope Canyon seems to be (I haven't made it there, yet), it's rare to see a new photographic view. This is one of them for me. Not only is the horizontal format unusual, but the sense of space is like nothing I've seen before. Because of the dead black along the bottom, which fades gradually to the brightest tone of the picture, and coupled with the low-hanging, nearly-black ceiling, I feel as if I'm hidden in a small cave, looking into the rest of the canyon. Very nice, sir.
