I presume the dirty face with unpleasant texture was intentional - certainly not the typical glamorizing effect. The image does not present a very clear message - the brightly lit few hairs distract from the face - the face is averted to the side without apparent reason. The composition does not clearly tell the eyes where to look or even suggest that it might not be better to look away. The fact that the nose intersects the far cheek is considered to be one of the classical portraiture mistakes, called a split profile.
