Reworked image for Halloween 2008, shot in 2002 with my first digicam. It's fun to play around with old pictures.

Note: Original post is now somewhere below.

Oh yea...this works. I am not sure about the figure in the tree but I love everything else. 6/6...or should I say 6-6-6...bah-wooh-hoo-ha-ha!!!!!

Oh darn.. I kinda thought the tree figure was creepy! It's difficult to sprinkle them artistically yet remain somewhat scary. Let me try again. :-)

The REASON that I like the other way is because it looks like a procession...some sort of funeral march. The one in the tree breaks the rhythm for me.

Ahh.. gotcha! So they should be equidistant. Maybe I can let a few grim reapers carry forks too, or a flame torch if I can pull it off. Thanks Tiffany!

Might be better to substitute the original, make a notation in my first comment and post the original submission below.

Busy man, Shawn! :-)

Thanks for dropping in. Tiffany has been helping me with her comments hence the incremental iterations. I'm having trouble replacing the original post so let me place it here as a temporary attachment - it'll be in color.

The variations have to do with numbers of grim reapers, their location, and accessorizing them with scythes and torches. All ready for Halloween!

Bats and crows- good idea. It will look great in a big print. I like the desaturated version too.

The lighting on the windmill is outstanding but the figures are hard to make out. Could you make them stand out more? It's so very nearly there but needs a bit more work.

Dave, I'll throw in 2 alters for the extra point! :-)

Janis, I've been having monitor calibration problems. This is a rather dark image so it might indeed show quite differently on your monitor. Are you able to differentiate the discrete steps from black to white on the above chart?
