leave the hanging towl or not.

I would go with "or not". It's hanging outside the shower door and so is sharp when everything else is somewhat blurred -- this draws attention to it and away from your subject.

I'd say not. Without the towel there's a sense of mystery here, a mystery that feels a bit threatening. Part of the mind recognizes that this must be a picture of someone behind patterned glass, like a shower door or bathroom window, but there's part that's also not sure. Perhaps it's a picture of someone trapped under ice, who needs or help. Or perhaps that was the situation, but now this person is already frozen and our help has arrived too loate. Even if you settle on the interpretation of person behind patterned glass, the facial expression can't be read. If it's just someone standing behind the glass, why are his hands raised in that manner? We struggle to know what's happening here, and what's being asked of us by the person in the photo. -With- the towel there, all of these questions are answered at a stroke. There's no struggle for understanding, and hence, with the towel there the picture doesn't hold our attention very long.

The eyes are creepy (in a good way) -- like some awesome expressionist painting. I just wish the towel weren't there. I'm sure you can recreate the photo w/out the towel if you wanted. Good work!

Nix the towel. Without it, it loses the bathroom feel, which is a good thing.
