Cloud gate

I like the disquiet this picture produces in my mind. I think it is because of the contrast between the oval shape of the statue and the straight lines of the buildings. The clouds produce a "bridge" between the two extremes of line and shape. It is also interesting to see the interaction between the people and the statue. The people are another link between the oval statue and its surroundings. The oval statue looks "out of place" but the people draw it into the surroundings by their interaction. The high contrast also adds "drama" to the scene. It is almost as if the sky is protesting that the oval statue has been placed there and it is demonstrating it concern by its mood. I also like the way the oval statue adds more to the scene by its reflection. When the viewers are looking at the statue they see themselves in the scene and also what is behind them. This increases the interaction for the people in the photograph. You have produced a very thought provoking photograph.
