j._scott_schrader 0 Posted October 11, 2002 It is a great face shot at a great moment, but unfortunately it looks ubderexposed and fogged as a result of that. Link to comment
ciaranmcginn 0 Posted October 12, 2002 hi, i like the capture of the moment, but as the other poster said the photo is fogged which lets the image down. however it might not be from the photo being underexposed, it could be from the scanner you used. sometimes when i scan my photos they come out dull, unsharp and sometime foggy, but you can use editing programs like photoshop to bring them back to life. i hope you dont mind but i saved you photo and then went and adjusted some properties in photoshop. here is what i did: contrast brought up to +38 (to get rid of the fogging) brightness brought down to -22 (to counter act the high contrast) saturation brought up to +6 (to give the photo some punch) sharpen filter used (to bring out more detail) stamp tool used to get rid of the dust spots on the photo (again a common problem on flatbed scanners) then saved as a jpeg at 10 (on a sacle of 0-12) for a file size of 210kb what do you think? please email me for anymore info. ciaran sydney australia Link to comment
francis_huang 0 Posted October 20, 2002 Thanks for the comments. U r both spot-on on excessive brightness. My monitor is near the end of its useful life and hence the extra 'bright'adjustment I had to make for it to look good, albeit only on my monitor. Thanks too Ciaran for the effort. Link to comment
