jbidarra 0 Posted September 28, 2008 Very good photo. Dramatic effect and great use of light. Nice composition. Regards. Link to comment
mbp 0 Posted September 29, 2008 very cool. when i looked at the thumbnail briefly, the dark tones of the earth of the mountain and the sky kind of blurred, as did the whites of the clouds and the snow, and then the extended sky along the top, created a disorienting effect on me. very different from most mountain shots i've seen. nice perspective (which can be said for most of your portfolio). samulihaataja 0 Posted September 29, 2008 Beatiful mountain picture. Composition is original, tones are original and the moment you've been shooting this scene is just perfect. It is very nice to see lot of shadow and highlight detail - it makes the scene vivid. Congratulations! Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted September 30, 2008 I think the B&W helps realize this harsh landscape. It's beautifully done, and I'll want to try some B&W next time I'm there. Last time I was there I didn't have a digital camera. I love your work, Ian.....this is just yet one more winner. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted October 1, 2008 In a word - Perfect! Solid 7/7, and straight into my 'Favorites.' Cheers! Chris Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted October 1, 2008 Caleb, thank you. The connections between the sky and earth and the snow and clouds were close in my mind as I worked on this image. I am pleased you find the result original and interesting. Samuli, thank you as well. Christal, I agree with you about how the B&W seems make bring out the harsh qualities of the landscape. Thanks for commenting. Chris, I'm glad this one worked so well for you. I thought you'd like it. The only thing I agonized over was the composition. I have more on each side here and the wider shot has a more expansive feeling; but, the light and the mountain peaks get lost on a wider view. Link to comment
bengt1664878721 2 Posted December 11, 2008 Excellent. The dark sky, matching the tone of the foreground, works perfectly here. Good work. Link to comment
human images 4 Posted December 25, 2008 ... post-produced judiciously, the drama is well balanced, not over the top - just right! Ansel would've approve! Carlos. Link to comment
