lesill 0 Posted September 28, 2008 Hi All,I hope you will consider taking time to critique my photograph. The artist is working on a painting of a significant historic building here in Charleston SC. In this photograph it is not yet complete. When I paid him a visit today to obtain a release for this photo he was impressed with it and noted that I included in the background one of the sides of the building he could not portray in his painting. He liked the photo so much he gave me a print of the finished painting mounted on a slate shingle that was taken from another historic building that the roof had been replaced on (retailed for around $160.). stanleys 0 Posted August 1, 2009 This looks like a hard scene to expose well, and you did a good job. A couple things: Without your blurb, I wouldn't know the buiding in the painting and the photo were the same one. I don't see any expression on the painter. Looks like it was shot from eye level and has a snap-shot quality. The 'all rights reserved' in the middle is distracting and not needed (who's going steal it, really). This is my opinion, and I'm no authority. Keep taking pictures. Stan. Link to comment
