tobiasfeltus 0 Posted September 26, 2008 Since I discovered the notion of abstract photography about 9 years ago, I have been fascinated with the notion of making the surreal out of something real, as this is, ultimately, what a lens can do, if persuaded. In 2005 I embarked on a series of images to compete with digitally manipulated surrealism, but religiously using in-camera technique. This is one of a series of untitled Instances. Shot with my Leica M3 and Elmar 50/3.5 on cross-processed Kodak. I still appreciate the real surreal much more than the synthetic. I like the struggle, and the unpredictable results.
