This photo is the result of a double RAW conversion of a single

exposure, taken live in concert. Otherwise very little manipulation,

except of course going BW. As an artist she's very ethereal, and I was

trying to make this come through here.

Did you do a quasi HDR, or an Exposure blending? Anyway, you have caught her in a great pose, with the spotlight shining down on her. Good sharpness, maybe you could have done some blurring on the background?

Thank you both for your comments. Per Ole: No it is not (quasi) HDR or a mix of exposures. It is, however, two different conversions from the same RAW exposure file, one for dark notes and one for highlights.

 

I like the reality of the stage setting, the drums and the mikes, so I'd rather keep DOF as it is and use light for separation instead. Also, this photo is in any case taken from some distance away using a zoom lens set at its largest available aperture, and I prefer not to blur backgrounds in post production.
