sumptee 0 Posted September 19, 2008 I love this photo in color but I just think Black and white just makes it so much more special! It make me think I'm attend a game back long ago. Truly a beautiful sight! Tell me what you think Thanks Jeremy Link to comment
FallRiverPhoto 0 Posted September 19, 2008 I agree that this conveys a sense of some of the most classic baseball photographers, and, of course, of the most classic venue for most of us. To pick the slightest of nits...timing. The foreground figures may represent the sparsest traffic of the evening, but they do distract slightly. I think what draws me most to this photo is the sense of the game occurring "out there." The darkness of our point-of-view in contrast with the brightness of not only the field, but also of so many of our fellow-spectators...there's a poetic/existential angst to the vicarious nature of sports viewing that appeals at once to the nostalgia of having played center field (though never in so grand a setting), and the reality of arthritis/injury making the center field immediately before me seeming like a very long distance from where I am today. (Add to that, of course, the bittersweet context of the grand stadium's soon-to-be-concluded lifespan, and I am an deeply moved.) Thanks so much for sharing a truly extraordinary image! corkman 0 Posted September 19, 2008 Love this shot Jeremy. If I were a Yankee fan, instead of a Yankee hater, I'd be ordering a print of this. Regards, Bill Link to comment
sumptee 0 Posted September 20, 2008 Well, thinks for the comments, I truly got a kick out of them!!! LOL! I guessing that you are a fan of a team who shall remain nameless on this post. Since I am a hater of that team (OHHHH BOSTON) But no ones perfect. Nah, thanks again for the comment. Jeremy Link to comment
corkman 0 Posted September 20, 2008 Think Orioles Jeremy. A team at the bottom "in transition" (for the past two decades)! Link to comment
