zampi 0 Posted September 19, 2008 Thank you for looking. I am curious about your opinion, particularly concerning composition and crop. Link to comment
eric_w 0 Posted September 20, 2008 Steffen, I think the square ratio isn't the best for this picture. I have two ideas regarding the composition. The first is to crop out as much as the background as possible, the top and the right side and bit off the left, to end up with a portrait aspect ratio. Or you could go the opposite direction and lop off a substantial part of the bottom and a bit off the left and end up with the sheep's head in the left third of the frame. My opinions only -- I think that if you play around with the cropping, you will end up with a result that pleases you. Link to comment
zampi 0 Posted September 20, 2008 Eric, thank you for very much your detailed comment, which is very much appreciated (more than any rating) :). I will think about your suggestions. I must confess, that i am quite pleased particularly with this capture, therefore i am very curious about other opinions. So let me explain, why i composed the picture as it is: I chose the stable, quiet and unspectacular square format to show the huge dimensions of this fur-bowl and its serenity. The crop describes kind of a quarter of a circle, in my opinion it helps to imagine the missing parts and to complete a huge bowl. The slim head provides a contrast to the fur-mass in the background, i placed it in approx. 2:3 ratio a wee bit above the diagonal of the capture. So, these are my thoughts. Thank you for giving me opportunity for discussion! best wishes - steffen Link to comment
kathyb 64 Posted September 22, 2008 I like Steffen's suggestion but it is also ok just as it is. Just my opinion..... Link to comment
